Verve Japan (I think) are re-releasing some long-long-out-of-print ukulele albums in spiffy mini-LP packaging.
Lyle Ritz' 50th State Jazz, How About Uke, and Roy Smeck's Melodies With Memories.
I'm sure there are others but those are the ones I saw in a bricks-and-mortar store so I knew to search for them. They're all locatable at amazon.co.jp via a standard roman-alphabet search request.
[Mind you: I picked up "50th state jazz" last night, and I've only listened to it once, but to be honest I'm not sure I'm in love with it. I can't front on Ritz' ukulele skills, of course, but as jazz, the whole thing feels a little tame. (Some interesting instrumentation, though.) The (much) more recent duo album with Herb Ohta does a lot more for me.]
Matt also pointed out that you can buy the CDs on Amazon.com. They cost over $30 each! Discuss
