Asturias Ukes

Asturias Ukes are based on classic Martin designs. Wonder how they sound for the price... Here's a link to their site (in Japanese). Link

  1. i puchased a concert size asturias mahogany uke when i was in japan about 5 years ago.
it is one of the best ukes i have, (i own martins and gibson and lots of others) the mahogany asturias is very well crafted, sounds great and super easy to play all for around 450 US at the time (the shop in tokyo gave a discount on it).
also, it's made with very low fretwire which gives it an easier feel as well.

i also tried their (asturias) koa ukes (soprano and concert) and found them not as open or resonant as the mahogany one i settled on, though all were equally well crafted.

if you can get a chance to play them and check out the sound and feel, i think they are a very good maker.
