that was a nice article but the reporter hit one of my buttons. buskers are not panhandlers! I could rant at length on that subject but I'll spare y'all with this brief statement on the difference.
you can enjoy a busker's act without giving them any money (though I gently tsk about that). a panhandler interaction is more along the line of "Give me a quarter or I'll touch you."
