Couldn't finish the book, Gary. Flat, monotonous. Tedious to slog through. Dwelling excessively not just on minutia but micro microscopic minutia.

No surprise it was penned by academics. If you're really into which girls glee clubs were the first to play the uke and who the star players were then fine.

But I'll bet those giving this an award cannot rattle off even a tiny fraction of the (deservedly) obscure trivia to which John/Jim
subject readers.
