First Listen: Eddie Vedder, 'Ukulele Songs'

NPR has a posted a bevy of info and track links for Eddie Vedder's new Ukulele Songs CD. I've just started listening to it myself, so I'll post my thoughts later, but in the meantime, you can stream the entire CD via this page. A worthwhile interview with Ann Powers is posted on NPR's The Record blog.

Off-topic, but important, I believe.

Gary/Craig have either of you ever watched Brently Heilbron's Daily Uke videos? I send them to Jeff every day.

Anyway, I searched on dailyuke today and what I got was an announcement that it "has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of our Community
Standards." Absolute and utter rubbish.

For those who haven't read the first issue of Kamuke or don't know the story of how Uni got into the uke, a short quotation from her interview in the issue -

"When my friend Brently played the uke at a rock-comedy concert one evening, I was hooked and had to have one."

Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Daily Uke, but YT's heavy-handedness is beyond the pale.

I'm guessing someone complained and YT was watching him and determined he had finally gone over the line. I've emailed Jeff and sent Al a YT message on this. Getting the word out.

Any thoughts?

I'm missing something: what was the offensive remark or language?

Haven't the foggiest idea, Gary. But saner heads have prevailed and Daily Uke is back up. Evidently you can be in violation of Community Standards one day and OK the next. Feel stupid for ranting about it, perhaps should have waited a bit.
